Types and construction methods of hot metal tanks

ladles

01. Frontier Overview
Hot metal tanks are also called ladles, ladles, and iron cans. They are classified according to capacity. There are many kinds of hot metal tanks, but the shapes are similar. The lining materials are selected according to the size.
02.Construction sequence
Under normal circumstances, ladles below 60 tons use high-aluminum, aluminum-silicon carbide bricks as the inner working layer. The construction sequence is: bottom layer—wall layer—bottom working layer—wall working layer. . In this construction sequence, no matter what material is selected, arc bricks are basically used for brick construction, that is, arc bricks are used for masonry. However, there are also brick types with different sizes and sizes for ring construction, but this type of bricks is rarely used. Most of them use spiral curved bricks, that is, curved bricks.
03.Construction method
Under normal circumstances, the bottom layer of the tank is laid first. Before the construction, the bottom of the tank is leveled with low-cement castables, and then two layers of clay bricks or high-aluminum bricks are wet-layed, one layer flat and one vertical (the second layer The layers can also be built sideways) If there are gaps, fill them with castables.
To build the tank wall, arc bricks are laid first. Of course, the material is selected according to the size of the tank. It can be low-pore bricks or high-aluminum bricks. At present, aluminum silicon carbide bricks must be used more because they are used frequently. Avoid replacing bricks multiple times and increasing unnecessary downtime. When there are 4-5 layers of arc bricks, fill the gap between the tank wall and the arc bricks, which is about 70-80mm wide, with low-cement castables. Use a vibrator to vibrate the construction, and then lay 4-5 layers of arc bricks. Bricks, tank walls, arc bricks and gaps are then filled with low cement castables, and then built to the top or the joint of the duckbill.
If there are curved bricks and climbing bricks at the junction between the top and the furnace mouth, they can be laid flat with climbing bricks. If not, use corundum castable or magnesia castable to cast the furnace mouth. For tank mouths above 60 tons, anchors must be welded and molds cast.
04. Precautions
Particular attention should be paid to the fact that the curved bricks used in each ring must be laid in staggered joints during construction. In addition, the bricks at the interface need to be cut. They must be cut from the middle to adjust the size, leaving grooves at both ends to fit. Ministry, so as to be strict.
