Magnesia
High-purity magnesia refers to sintered magnesia with a content of more than 99% and a bulk density greater than 3.4g/cm3. The production methods all use magnesium-containing compounds as raw materials, some of which are made into light magnesium oxide first, and then high-grade magnesium oxide is made by electrofusion or reburning (dead burning), and some are produced by magnesium chloride spray thermal decomposition and calcination.
1. High Refractoriness: it is a highly refractory material, with a high melting point of 2800°C.
2. Good Corrosion Resistance: It has a very low reactivity and is resistant to acids and alkalis.
3. Density: It has a high density of 3.58 to 3.97 g/cm³.
4. High Thermal Stability: It is a very stable material, with very low thermal expansion and contraction.
5. Low Porosity: It has a very low porosity, which contributes to its excellent performance as a refractory material.
Product Description
Magnesia is a refractory raw material. Its melting point is 2852°C, and it is one of the most important refractory raw materials. Because of its high melting point, high strength, good thermal shock resistance, small thermal expansion coefficient, and good corrosion resistance, it is widely used in steel, non-ferrous metals, and chemical industries. Its main raw materials are seawater magnesite and magnesium-rich brine.
The Application Of Magnesia
Refractory magnesia can be used as a lining for furnaces to increase the heat conductivity of the furnace, which can help increase the smelting efficiency. It also helps to reduce energy consumption. It is also used as a chemical stabilizer to reduce the production of harmful gases like carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide.
Non-ferrous metal smelting uses refractory magnesia to construct lining materials and crucible lining materials. It can resist high temperature corrosion in the smelting environment and reduce molten metal penetration. It also can improve the overall performance of the smelting furnace.
Refractory magnesia is an important material used in glass furnace, which has a large proportion and high temperature resistance. It is widely used in the wall and roof of glass furnace, flame retardant parts, partition plates and so on.
