Insulation Mullite Brick
Thermal insulation mullite brick is a kind of brick made by mixing mullite and thermal insulation material. Primarily used as a form of insulation in high temperature applications such as kilns, furnaces and other high temperature areas, this brick is also resistant to chemical attack making it ideal for applications such as glass furnaces.
1.Low thermal conductivity
2.High strength and wear resistance
3.Low expansion coefficient
4.Low porosity
Insulation Mullite Description
Insulating mullite brick is a highly insulating and thermally efficient refractory material made of mullite. Bricks are fired to high temperatures, making them ideal for applications where heat loss is a concern. This brick is commonly used in kilns, incinerators, heating systems and other industrial applications. Thermal insulation mullite bricks have excellent thermal shock resistance and can be used in high temperature environments up to 1700°C.
The Application Of Insulation Mullite Brick
Insulation mullite bricks have high thermal conductivity and are suitable for heating furnaces. It has low thermal expansion coefficient, good wear resistance, can resist thermal shock and has a longer service life. In addition, they also have good thermal insulation properties, which help to maintain a constant temperature in the furnace.
Mullite insulation bricks are used for thermal insulation of the outer heating surface of the blast furnace and the working lining of any steelmaking furnace. Mullite bricks can be used on the hot side of blast furnaces, which support the refractory lining and act as insulators to prevent heat from escaping from the furnace.
Insulation mullite bricks are widely used in the petrochemical industry as a refractory material for kiln insulation, masonry, and wear resistance. In the petrochemical industry, thermal insulation mullite bricks are mainly used for coating of cracking furnaces, lining of reforming furnaces, lining of reforming furnaces, heat preservation of heaters, etc.

A1:Insulation mullite brick is a type of refractory or ceramic material specifically designed and manufactured for use in areas that require insulation. It is composed of high–purity, ceramic mullite grains, which are bonded together with alumina–based cement. This brick is fired at high temperatures in order to achieve its optimal properties, such as low thermal conductivity, low shrinkage, and resistance to thermal shock and corrosion.
A2:The main benefits of using insulation mullite brick are its excellent thermal insulation performance, low thermal conductivity, good resistance to thermal shock and corrosion, good resistance to chemical attack, and low shrinkage. Additionally, it is lightweight, non–toxic, and easy to install.
A3:Insulation mullite brick is typically used in linings for industrial furnaces, such as in kilns, boilers, and heaters. It is also used for insulation purposes in areas such as petrochemical plants and refineries.
A4:Insulation mullite brick is manufactured using a dry pressing process. This involves mixing high purity ceramic mullite grains with a binder and pressing them in an unheated die. The bricks are then sintered in a kiln at temperatures of up to 1600°C.
A5:Yes, insulation mullite brick can be cut to size using diamond–tipped saw blades. It is important to ensure that all cutting is done with wet cutting to reduce dust and ensure the safety of the operator.
