What problems should be paid attention to when laying refractory bricks?
As the main refractory material in the construction industry, refractory bricks have many advantages, such as wear resistance, thermal conductivity, high density, good lethality, and strong compression and earthquake resistance. In masonry, it is not only concerned with the aesthetics of the exterior, but also with it, let us introduce you to what you should pay attention to when building.
1. Misalignment: the unevenness between layers and blocks;
2. Tilt: that is, it is not flat in the horizontal direction;
3. Uneven mortar joints: the width of the mortar joints varies, which can be adjusted by properly selecting refractory bricks;
4. Climbing: that is, the surface of the round wall has regular unevenness, which should be controlled within 1mm;
5. Separation: In curved masonry, the brick ring and shell are not concentric;
6. Re-stitching: that is, the upper and lower gray joints are superimposed, and only one gray joint is allowed between the two layers;
7. Through the joints: the mortar joints of the inner and outer horizontal layers of the refractory bricks are combined, and even the exposed metal shell is not allowed;
8. Open your mouth: The mortar joints in the curved masonry are small and large.
9. Void: that is, the mortar is not filled between layers, between bricks and between shells, and it is not allowed to be used in the lining of fixed equipment;
10. Hairy joints: the joints of the bricks are not hooked, and the walls are not clean;
11. Snaking: that is, longitudinal seams, circular seams or horizontal seams are not straight but wavy;
12. Masonry bulge: This is caused by the deformation of the equipment, and the relevant surface of the equipment should be smoothed during the masonry process. When lining refractory bricks with double layers, the insulation layer can be used for leveling;
13. Mud mixing: Misuse of mud is not allowed.
What I have described above are issues that are often overlooked when building refractory bricks. Firstly, the masonry must be neat, and secondly, pay attention to the voids. A particularly silly mistake to make is using the wrong mud. The seemingly simple problem is actually very error-prone, so everyone must be careful when constructing it.
